- Facets that meet at a ridge: Under the flat octagonal top, a band of triangular facets slopes out to the widest ridge, where the long lower facets begin. Every face is flat and every edge is straight.
- A gemstone silhouette: Seen at an angle the table reads as a cut stone: widest at the ridge near the top, tapering to a smaller octagonal foot on the floor, with no legs and no plinth.
- Grey wash, open grain: The charcoal-grey wash sits over open mango grain, with paler grain in the pores. On the top the grain runs one way; on the sides it changes from facet to facet.

A low side table in solid mango with a charcoal-grey wash, cut like a gemstone. A flat octagonal top gives way to a short band of triangular facets that slopes out to a sharp ridge, and below it long triangular facets taper in to a smaller octagonal foot. The grain runs a different way on each facet, so the grey reads lighter and darker as the light moves across it, with paler wear along the edges. It is solid mango, so grain and small marks vary from table to table.
