Apricale Natural Handloom Cotton Square Pouf

Cream, looped, low. An 18-inch square pouf in natural cream handloom-woven cotton, banded with raised loops, a white braid and fine khaki stripes.

Apricale is woven on a handloom in natural cream cotton, and the texture does the talking: wide bands of raised ivory loops, a fat white herringbone braid through the middle and thin khaki-and-white twisted stripes, all set on a flat cream ground. A chunky braided cord outlines the top and the bottom edge. Because the cloth comes off a hand loom, the stripes wander a little and no two poufs are exactly alike.

The same bands cross the top and wrap all four sides, meeting at the same height at each corner, so it looks finished from every angle, even from the seat behind it. It holds a firm, square shape, yet it is light enough to carry from the sofa to a reading corner. Style it with warm leather and a faded vintage rug, or with linen, pale oak and a jute runner for a softer coastal room.
