Rustic fir, hidden storage. A 31.5-inch bucket-shaped drum of solid fir staves, with a round top that opens onto storage inside.

Arona is built like a barrel: narrow vertical staves of solid fir run from the rim down to a smaller flat base, so the side is widest just under the top and curves inward to the floor. Each stave shows its own arches and flames of grain, along with small knots, the odd nail hole and shifts of tone that belong to its vintage style, so no two tables look the same.

Open the top and the whole drum becomes storage for throws, games and remotes, with an MDF panel at the bottom of the well. The surface is treated with antique oil for a matte, natural feel, and the table arrives ready to use with no assembly. Pair it with cream boucle and linen for a soft neutral room, or with deep gray velvet and a warm floor lamp for evenings.

Set it in front of a cream sofa on a jute or wool rug, and keep the top simple: one bowl, a vase or a short stack of books.
