Tall, dark, finely fluted. A tall 36-inch chest in wire-brushed black wood, with five fluted drawers and an antique brass-tone half-moon pull on each.
Every drawer front is covered in rounded vertical flutes inside a slim flat border, so the black front catches light and shadow in soft stripes instead of reading as one dark block. The wood is wire-brushed before the black goes on, so the grain still reads as fine, slightly paler streaks under the matte finish.
Each drawer carries a single half-moon pull, antique-brass-toned, hooked over its upper edge, and together the five form a single warm line down the middle. Black felt covers the floor of the shallow top drawer, a soft place for watches and small keepsakes; the four below are deeper, for sweaters and jeans. Rounded front corner posts and a base frame on four tapered legs keep the tall case from looking heavy. Set it against warm white plaster with cognac leather nearby, or with pale oak floors and grey linen for a quieter room.
