- A soft corner, a thick edge: The top is a thick slab with its corners rounded and its edges eased over, and the grain wraps round the edge band. Below it, in shadow, the curve of the drum pedestal sits well back from the corner.
- A square top on one drum: Seen at an angle the table reads as a square walnut top floating over a single round drum, with the top overhanging on every side. There are no legs and no corners at floor level.
- Four quarters, one centre: Two fine seams cross at the middle of the top, and in each quarter the walnut grain runs diagonally toward them, so the four quarters meet in chevrons. Warm medium-brown walnut veneer with darker grain lines and a matte satin finish.
