Belcastro takes its lines from the old clerk's chair: a rounded back pad with two covered buttons, held on a single metal bar above a square, topstitched seat, and two bent metal loops topped with flat wooden arm pads. The top-grain leather has a distressed, lived-in finish, lighter where it crackles and darker along the seams, so every chair looks a little different.

At 24.5 inches wide with a 19-inch seat, it pulls up to a writing desk without crowding a small study, and the swivel seat and five hooded casters let you turn and roll from the desk to the shelf. Rough honey-toned wood arms and dark bronze-toned metal keep it warm rather than corporate. Style it with a brass lamp and a faded rug for a library study, or pale plaster and concrete for a modern loft.
