Bovalino's tall back is gathered into three soft, pillowed bands of whiskey leather, the lowest curving forward into the seat, and a separate thick cushion sits on top for a plump, relaxed feel. The top-grain leather has a strong two-tone finish, lighter on every ruched crown and darker in the creases, with fine crackle, so no two chairs look exactly alike.

Flat metal arm frames carry wooden arm pads that curve down at the front, and the seat swivels on four arched tubular legs joined by a round foot ring, each on a brass-toned hooded caster. At 22.5 inches wide with a 19.8-inch seat and a 36.5-inch back, it brings the feel of a well-worn library chair to a study or home office. Style it with stone, timber and firelight for a chalet study, or whitewashed walls and old oak for a country barn.
