One wave, four drawers. A 40-inch chest in smokey walnut and suar veneer, with four handle-free drawers and a sculpted wave between the top two.
Burano is nearly square, a little taller than it is wide, and its four full-width drawers carry the swirling figure of suar veneer from edge to edge. Between the first and second drawers the fronts break into a sculpted, live-edge-style line with a streak of pale sapwood along it, while the lower gaps run straight and dark. Those dark reveals double as fingertip grips, so no pull interrupts the grain.
The walnut and suar veneers are laid over mahogany solids, plywood, laminated veneer lumber and MDF, and dark dovetail detail marks the top and bottom corners of each side. Inside the second drawer, a removable six-compartment organizer keeps jewelry and small things sorted. Style it with cream plaster and charcoal linen, or next to a tall steel-framed window where the grain catches the light.
Pairs with our Chioggia 6-drawer dresser and Barumini nightstand, which share its smokey walnut finish and wave-edged fronts.
