A thick, plain top rests on two flat slab legs set in from the ends; each leg widens toward the floor and has a long narrow slot down its side. One straight beam runs just under the top, passes through both legs and stands out past each of them, like the upper beam of a Japanese gate. Below the beam the table is open to the floor.
