- A soft corner, a dark ring: Each end panel is a thick oak slab, rounded over at the top and softened along its front edge. Beside it, the drawers carry dark metal ring pulls, two on each drawer.
- One long, open bay: Seen at an angle, the console reads as one frame: two drawers under the top, one open bay the full length, and a solid shelf on a low recessed plinth.
- Knots and open grain: The veneer is knotty oak in a weathered natural finish: greige-brown and matte, with open grain and small dark knots. Grain and knots vary from table to table.

Two thick end panels with softly rounded top corners frame the piece. Directly under the top sit two wide drawers, each with two dark metal ring pulls, and the drawers run on self-closing guides mounted underneath. Below them one open bay runs the full length above a solid lower shelf, and the whole frame rests on a low recessed plinth instead of legs. At about 15 inches deep it fits behind a sofa, along a hallway or in an entry. Because the veneer is real oak, grain and knots vary from table to table.
