Made for lingering. A set of two low, wide mid-century armchairs with A-frame wood sides, flat arms and an open diamond-lattice cane back, built for dinners that run late.
Caulonia sits you back rather than up: the seat is low and generous, the back gently reclined, and the flat wooden arms are just right for resting an elbow over the last course. It's the chair people stay in after the plates are cleared.
Each side is a single A-frame, the front and rear legs leaning in to meet under the arm, with nothing crossing below the seat, so the pair looks light even in a smaller room. The back is open cane, a diamond lattice over fine round-hole cane that lets light pass through, and the seat is a tight, closed rattan weave framed in warm honey-toned wood. Use them at the heads of a dining table, by a window with a bistro table, or in a reading corner.
Pull them up to our Squillace reclaimed pine table, or use them as head chairs with any of our dining tables.
