Classic lines, slim footprint. A 55-inch desk in washed brown wood with a curved front, three soft-close drawers and only 19.5 inches of depth.
Chiaravalle borrows the details of a traditional Directoire writing desk and keeps every one: framed drawer fronts, panelled corner posts, small scrolled brackets and square legs that taper to the floor under stepped collars. The front of the top dips gently inward between the two pedestals, and the centre drawer follows the same curve, so there is room to pull in close where you sit. It is built from solid rubberwood and wood veneer laminated on MDF, in a soft washed brown that lets the grain show through, and grain and tone vary slightly from desk to desk.
Three soft-close drawers on metal slides keep the top clear: two deeper side drawers for notebooks and chargers, and a long, shallow centre drawer for pens and papers. Each has a single satin gold-tone knob, the only metal on the desk. At 55 inches wide and only 19.5 inches deep it fits a study, a bedroom wall or a wide hallway, and the back is finished, so it can also face into the room. Style it with a brass lamp and an antique rug for a classic study, or with plaster walls and black steel for a modern contrast.
