Solid, square, grounded. A 34-inch square waterfall coffee table in solid sheesham, with 3-inch slabs meeting at mitered corners.
Chieri is built from just three pieces of solid sheesham: one square top and two end panels that run straight down to the floor, each about 3 inches thick. Where they meet, a fine 45-degree miter line runs from the outer corner to the inner one, so the thick edge of the top turns down into the panel without a seam across its face. Solid wood means every table carries its own figure: golden-brown boards streaked with dark chocolate, swirling grain and the odd small knot.
Beneath the top, a tunnel 28 inches wide and 15 inches high runs straight through from front to back, open to the rug, with no shelf, rail or drawer. From one side the table reads as a solid wall of wood, from the other as a clean frame. At 18 inches high it sits close to sofa-seat height, within easy reach from every side. Pair it with cream boucle and pale linen for a quiet modern room, or with cognac leather and an old rug for a warmer, collected look.
