The frame is solid oak, so natural knots and grain vary from chair to chair, finished in a weathered taupe-brown with the open grain filled pale. The low, rounded back curves around you and flows forward into the arms, supporting your back and elbows through a long dinner, with room to lean back once the plates are cleared.
Set into the curve is a panel of natural woven cane: its small round holes let light pass through, so the chair looks light even in a full set. The seat is sprung and foam-filled under a taupe-beige textured weave, and at 22.5 inches wide it fits where bulkier armchairs won't. Pair it with a pale oak table and linen for a relaxed country look, or with marble and white walls for a calm city apartment.
