The oak veneer's open pores are filled pale, so fine white streaks follow the grain across a warm greige ground and a 52-inch piece still feels light in the room. The veneer is laid over wood and engineered wood, a build that helps a tall case stay straight and true while the real oak stays on show.
One thick frame wraps the front, its four outer corners rounded back into the top and sides, and a low apron on four short tapered legs lifts it off the floor. Five dovetailed drawers, each 33.5 inches wide inside, run on full-extension ball-bearing glides, and a single antique nickel-tone loop pull on each draws five quiet lines down the front. Style it with white plaster and olive branches for a Mediterranean calm, or with charcoal linen for more contrast.
