Two pebbles, one pair. Two pebble-shaped coffee tables with white sintered stone tops ringed in golden burl veneer, each on a single burl drum.
Each top is a soft rounded square rather than a circle, and almost all of it is stone: white to ivory sintered stone with amber-gold veins and pale gray clouds, framed by a slim 1.6-inch border of burl wood veneer with a rounded edge. Burl veneer is cut from the knotted growths on a tree, so the drums and borders carry clusters of dark eyes and rippling figure that never repeat from one table to the next.
The two tables share one design at two sizes. The larger stands 15.75 inches high and the smaller 13.7, so the smaller top can slide partly under the larger one for a layered look, or move away to work as a side table. The maker rates the stone as scratch and stain resistant, and it wipes clean with a damp cloth. Style the pair with cream boucle and pale oak for a soft modern room, or with rust linen and black metal for more contrast.
