One curve, then calm. A 58-inch knotty oak veneer desk whose top bends down into a three-drawer pedestal, with a panel leg and an open kneehole.
Curinga has one strong gesture: at the left end the thick top rounds down in a waterfall bend and becomes the side of the drawer pedestal. The rest stays quiet, with flat handleless drawer fronts, softly rounded edges and a single broad panel leg at the right end, joined to the pedestal by one low stretcher toward the back. It is made of English knotty oak veneer over MDF with solid wood parts, in a weathered greige oak tone, so knots, open grain and small checks show through a matte finish and no two desks look quite alike.
The three drawers run on self-closing guides and keep papers, supplies and chargers out of sight, and two cable grommets in the top lead lamp and charger cords down neatly. The 58 by 28-inch top leaves room to spread out, with the pedestal on your left as you sit and open knee space to the right. Style it with limestone, linen and a wool rug for a calm modern study, or with pale timber and a stone fireplace for a mountain-house feel.
