Coiled jute, striped sides. An 18-inch round pouf in natural and black hand-braided jute, with a coiled braid on top and a finely striped side.
Dolceacqua is covered in hand-braided jute in two colors, pale natural and black, as the maker describes it. On top, a flat braid of natural jute coils outward from the center in a spiral; around the side, natural and charcoal-black knots alternate in close rows that read as fine horizontal stripes from across the room. A few loose fibers stand up here and there, and small differences in the braid make each pouf a little different.
A narrow black and natural border frames the top, and a plain dark fabric base sits underneath. Dense polystyrene beads keep the drum firm, yet it is light enough to carry from the sofa to a reading chair. Set it on a cream wool rug in front of a linen sofa for a bright villa room, or against cognac leather and a faded rug for a warmer loft.
For a matching look, set it beside our Marostica black mango drum coffee table, whose matte black echoes the dark stripes of the weave.
