The Fasano story

Straps and two frames.

No apron. No rail. Nothing underneath.

The seat is a flat weave of leather straps, stretched between two solid wood end frames.

Each end frame is a closed rectangle of straight, square wood: a top rail, two posts and a runner along the floor.

The design

Mid-century, pared back.

55 inches long and 15.7 deep, at 18.5 inches high: a seat for two, with nothing on it but the weave of the leather.

The materials

Genuine leather seat

The seat is woven from genuine leather straps in cognac.

Solid wood frames

Two end frames in solid wood, finished in a dark brown stain a shade deeper than the leather.

Easy to clean

Wipe the leather with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth.

The seat

Straps over the rail.

The straps running front to back wrap over the front edge in an even row of loops, and the lengthwise straps wrap the top rail at each end.

The result is a flat, taut seat with short blocks of leather that step along in diagonal lines.

Along an entry wall, at the foot of a bed or under a window: at 55 by 15.7 inches, Fasano gives two people room to sit.
