Product Highlights

  • Three rods to a leg: Each gunmetal iron hairpin leg is three slim rods that spread under the top and meet at one round disc foot. No rail or stretcher runs between the legs.
  • Four glued boards: The 1.5 in top is solid acacia, four boards glued edge to edge, with the natural live edge along both long sides. The square-cut ends show the glued boards.
  • Honey, amber and rose: Swirling grain, small knots and pale sapwood under a distressed natural finish. The grain and colour of every top are a little different.
  • Dining or entry: 60 in long and 18 in high, to run along a dining table, across the foot of a bed or against an entry wall. Table, bedding and decor not included.

At home

Wild edge, long light.

Golden hour in a white hallway. A live-edge acacia top and four slim hairpin legs throw their shadows along the wall.

The Foligno story

A slab, on rods.

The top is solid acacia, 1.5 inches thick, with the natural live edge left along both long sides.

It is made of four boards glued edge to edge, so the grain runs the whole 60 inches and the square-cut ends show the joints.

Under it stand four gunmetal iron hairpin legs, each made of three slim rods. Nothing runs between them.

The design

Industrial legs, wild edge.

60 inches long and 15 deep, at 18 inches high: long enough to run along a dining table. Slim rods below, an uneven natural edge above.

The live edge of the Foligno acacia top: a wavy, uneven edge with dark bark-coloured grooves beside honey and pale sapwood grain

Live edge

The long edges follow the shape of the tree: wavy, uneven and never cut straight.

Close-up of the Foligno top: separate acacia boards glued edge to edge, with swirling grain and small knots

Four boards

Glued edge to edge. The grain and the colour change from one board to the next.

One Foligno hairpin leg: three slim gunmetal iron rods spreading under the acacia top and meeting at one round disc foot

Hairpin legs

Three rods to a leg, meeting at one round disc foot on the floor.

The materials

Acacia, left wild.

Swirling grain in honey, amber and rosy brown, with small knots and paler wood toward the wavy edges.

It is natural wood, so the grain, colour and edge of every top are a little different.

Solid acacia top

One thick top of solid acacia, made of four glued boards.

Distressed finish

A natural, distressed finish that lets the woodgrain show.

Iron hairpin legs

Gunmetal iron, three rods to a leg, with a round disc foot.

One end of the Foligno bench: the square-cut end of the 1.5 inch acacia top showing the glued boards, the wavy live edges and two hairpin legs of three rods each
The top

Four boards, one long top.

The top is 1.5 inches thick and made of four boards glued edge to edge. The square-cut ends show where they meet.

Both long sides keep the natural live edge, so the width changes a little along the bench.

  • Top 60″ × 15″, 1.5″ thick
  • Wood Solid acacia
  • Edges Natural live edge, both long sides
  • Seat height 18″
  • Under the top 16.5″ clear
Two Foligno hairpin legs at one end of the bench, each of three gunmetal iron rods meeting at a round disc foot under the acacia top
The legs

Three rods, one foot.

Each of the four legs is made of three slim iron rods that spread under the top and meet at a round disc foot.

They lean out toward the corners, and no rail or stretcher runs between them, so the floor stays open under the bench.

Living with Foligno

Table, bed, entry.

Along one side of a dining table, across the foot of a bed, or against an entry wall: at 60 by 15 inches, Foligno is a long, low seat with room to spare.

With nothing between the legs, boots and baskets slide straight under the top.
