Gizzeria keeps the Shaker habits that last: framed drawer fronts with one knob each, a moulded rail under the drawers and square legs that taper only near the floor. It is solid wood, finished in a deep brunette brown stain under a protective NC lacquer, so the grain shows through warm and slightly lighter where the light catches it. Grain and tone vary from desk to desk.
Everything you need for a work session tucks away behind three closed fronts. The centre front flips down to reveal a pull-out keyboard tray, and two side drawers on metal glides keep pens and notepads close. At 48 by 20 inches it fits a bedroom corner, a living room wall or a small home office, with 25 inches of clearance under the front rail. Style it with sage walls, old oak floors and a brass lamp for a country study, or with plaster and black steel for a modern loft.
