Clean lines, no hardware. A 60-inch mid-century desk in solid wood, with sculpted pulls, tapered legs and a keyboard tray behind the centre front.

Guardavalle separates its slim drawer case from the base with one thin shadow line, so the top seems to float above four tapered legs. Each front is shaped with a shallow arc along its top and bottom edges, bevelled for your fingers, so the arcs do the work of handles and there is no hardware at all. It is solid wood in a dark walnut brown stain under a protective NC lacquer, with soft figure and gentle tone changes across the top, so every desk is slightly different.

The 60 by 26-inch top has room for two monitors and paperwork side by side, with 25 inches of clearance under the apron. The centre front flips down to reveal a pull-out keyboard tray, and two side drawers on metal glides hold pens and small supplies. Style it with white brick, concrete and black steel for a loft office, or with warm travertine, pale oak and linen for a calm modern villa.
