Made for a full table. A set of two slim, armless mid-century side chairs in caramel rubberwood, with an open cane back and a woven rattan seat.
At 18.3 inches wide and armless, Joppolo tucks in close, so a pair leaves room for one more guest at the table. The back is open cane, a fine round-hole grid under a diamond lattice, so light passes straight through and even a full row of chairs never looks heavy.
The frame is rubberwood in a warm caramel finish, satin rather than glossy, with finger joints on show at the corners of the deep seat frame. On each side, two legs lean in to meet under the seat in an upside-down V, braced high up, so there is nothing low to catch your feet. Cane and wood tones vary a little from chair to chair, part of their natural character. Pair it with pale oak and linen for a calm, natural look, or with dark wood and black accents for something more graphic.
Pull a pair up to our Oriolo table, which shares the finger-jointed wood and V-shaped legs, or to the walnut Crosia for a darker mid-century look.
