Warm elm, high legs. A long 66-inch dresser: six flat drawers of latte elm veneer, twelve brass-finish rings, and splayed end legs tied by brass rods.
Elm veneer shows the tree's bold cathedral arches and ovals, and here that figure fills six flat drawer fronts, different on every one. The case is outlined by a slim border with fine diagonal joints at its corners, and the outer corners of the drawer block are softly rounded, so the long front reads calm rather than boxy. Under the elm face sits a mix of solid wood and MDF.
Open the top drawer and you find felt and a jewelry tray; open the lowest and you find a cedar lining, while every drawer glides out on metal ball-bearing slides. At each end, two splayed wood legs are joined front to back by a slim brass-finish rod, lifting the dresser well clear of the floor. Style it with smoked glass and charcoal linen for a city bedroom, or with rush baskets and sand-colored wool for something softer.
