Levanto 80-Inch Black Ash and Rattan Media Console

Black ash, warm rattan. A 79.5-inch media console in black ash veneer, with woven natural rattan doors, two center drawers and aged brass-finish legs.

Levanto is white ash veneer finished in black, laid over a core of MDF, plywood, laminated veneer lumber and Asian hardwood. The black sits on the surface without filling the open pores, so the cathedral figure still shows as fine pale lines across the top, the ends and the drawer fronts. The front corners are rounded in a soft bullnose and the top follows the same curve, so a long case reads calm rather than boxy.

Two hinged doors frame panels of woven natural rattan in a tight square weave, each edged with a thin gold-tone strip and opened by a finger pull in the door edge, so no hardware sits on the rattan. Behind each door is an adjustable shelf; in the center, an open cubby sits over two drawers with round brass-tone knobs. Under each end, an aged brass-finish tube wraps the corner and drops into two legs. Style it with pale plaster and linen for a coastal calm, or with warm wood floors and ochre art for a richer, collected room.

For a matching black ash look, set our Imola black ash oval pedestal coffee table in front of the sofa.
