Mondovi 36-Inch Round Carved Limed Ash Drum Coffee Table

Arches all the way round. A 36-inch round drum coffee table in limed ash, with half-moon arches under stepped slats and a recessed dark plinth.

Mondovi is a closed round drum with a relief running all the way round its apron. Smooth half-moon arches sit along the lower edge, and narrow raised slats hang down between them, each one stopping a little lower than the last so they follow the curve of the arch. In daylight every slat throws a thin shadow, so the drum changes as you walk past it.

The ash is limed: a pale wash settles into the open pores over a warm tan ground, so the long straight and cathedral grain shows as fine chalky lines. It is ash wood and ash veneer over an MDF body. The round top sits just inside a thin raised rim in an antique-gold finish, like a shallow tray, and the whole drum rests on a dark brown plinth set well back underneath. Style it with boucle and linen for a soft, pale room, or with cognac leather and an old rug for warmth.

For a matching cerused-wood drum look, add our Tuglie drum side table at the end of the sofa.
