Moneglia Distressed Brown Top-Grain Buffalo Leather Round Pouf

Buffalo leather, softly banded. An 18-inch round pouf in distressed top-grain buffalo leather, with a four-panel top and a side in three stitched bands.

The cover is top-grain buffalo leather, semi-aniline dyed and then distressed, as the maker describes it. The light dye lets the hide's own surface show through, so fine pale veins and cloudy lighter patches drift across a muted reddish brown, and the leather turns softer and more supple the longer it is used.

Two seams cross on the top to make four equal quarters, and the side is pieced in three bands of the same height, every seam topstitched in brown along both edges. A soft leather lip rims the top and the bottom, and a concealed zip hides along the bottom edge. Dense polystyrene beads keep the drum firm for tired feet or a guest who needs a seat. Pair it with a cream linen sofa and a jute rug against pale stone, or with dark wood and a wool rug for a library mood.
