A low cube side table made from chunky blocks of solid teak root, fitted together into a hollow box. The top is four blocks in a two-by-two grid, and every side is a patchwork of blocks in different sizes, some showing swirling root figure and some the concentric growth rings of the end grain. Knots, small cracks, raw edges and small gaps into the hollow centre are part of the piece. Each table is made from different pieces of teak, so the pattern and colour vary from one table to the next.
At 17 inches square and 17.5 inches high, Montefiore sits beside a sofa arm or an accent chair with its top below the arm, and it also works as a low stool.
