Montepaone is made for the meals that turn into evenings. Every chair comes with its own tie-on cushion, so the seat stays soft through the last course, and under it the seat is twisted cord wrapped tight over the rails in a classic four-triangle pattern, texture you can see and feel. Lift the cushions off and the weave is on show.
The frame is wood with hickory veneers in an Almond finish, a sun-washed greige brown with the grain in view, on square legs with a low stretcher on each side to tie it together. Two flat slats open into a V across the back, so a row of chairs stays light. Grain and cord tones vary slightly from chair to chair, part of their natural character. Style it with a scrubbed oak table and linen for farmhouse warmth, or with black steel and concrete for a relaxed loft look.
Their greige tone matches our Plataci knotty oak table for a long farmhouse run, or pull them up to the Scigliano round pedestal table.
