A small round drink table in solid mango wood, finished in matte black. The 13-inch top is shaped like a bowl: a flat round surface with a smooth, rounded underside. It rests on a bell-shaped base that is carved by hand all over with shallow oval scoops, set in staggered rows like thumbprints, so light and shadow move across it as you walk past. The black is sealed with a water-based, low-VOC lacquer, and the wood grain still shows through it. At 18 inches high it sits a little below the arm of most sofas and chairs. Each base is carved by hand, so the scoops vary slightly from table to table.
