The Ozieri story

One door, four quarters.

A one-door bedside cabinet in walnut-brown ash veneer over MDF.

Its door carries a raised relief of ash mouldings: nested right angles in four mirrored quarters that meet in a cross at the centre.

There is no handle. The door opens with a press, and the top and sides stay plain.

The design

Nested right angles, meeting in a cross.

20.47 inches wide, 16.54 deep and 20.87 high. The door fills the whole front, and the plain top and sides sit a shade lighter.

The door has no handle. A push-to-open latch opens it with a press, and it hangs on hidden hinges.

It closes over an adjustable shelf, so the cabinet has an upper and a lower space for books and chargers.

The relief

The mouldings turn at mitred corners, and each quarter of the door is a set of nested right angles.

The cabinet sits flat on the floor on small felt pads, so the door reads as one carved face on a plain box.
