Small room, strong shape. A 47.5-inch round of black-stained solid ash on a sculpted X base, sized for a nook or smaller dining room, with four chairs pulled in close.

Paola is solid ash, stained a deep, neutral black, and the stain lets the open grain show through as fine silver lines, so it still looks and feels like real wood, not black paint. Because the grain is the wood's own, the pattern differs from table to table. The one-inch top is bevelled away underneath, so from the side you see only a thin, crisp edge.

Underneath, two V-shaped frames meet in the centre to draw an X on the floor, and four flat legs lean in toward the top, each curving smoothly into its rail. The legs sit about 9.5 inches in and there is no apron or centre column, so knees and chair legs have room all round. Pair it with white panelling and oak parquet for a classic Paris look, or with jute and pale stone for a calm coastal room.
