- A capped back on open posts: Each chair back is tall and flat, with a padded cap across the top that steps out over two exposed wooden posts. Back and seat are upholstered in beige chenille, and the seat has a fine piped edge.
- Chairs at the ends, knees clear: Seen at an angle the base reads as one panel, not four legs, so the chairs at the ends and along the sides pull in without a corner leg in the way.
- Cut, not assembled from legs: The base is a single panel with a rounded U cut out of it and its sides leaning outward, crossed at each end by a slanted slab. Wire-brushed oak veneer in a pale natural finish, the grain lightly limed.

It stands on one sculpted base: a broad panel with a rounded U cut out of it, its two sides leaning outward, crossed at each end by a slanted slab. Pull the two ends apart and drop in the separate 20-inch leaf to take the table to 94 inches. The four armless chairs have tall backs and padded seats upholstered in beige chenille, framed by exposed wooden posts and legs in the same pale finish. The veneer is real wood, so the grain varies from table to table.
