- Brass at the floor: The pedestal is a plain cylinder about 10 inches across. It finishes in a brushed brass band about an inch and a half high, flush with the wood.
- A thin top, cut back underneath: Seen at an angle beside a sofa, the pebble-shaped top overhangs the pedestal by about five inches all round, and its bevelled underside keeps the edge looking thin.
- Walnut, straight and arched grain: Medium warm brown walnut with long straight grain, soft arches and small pin knots, under a satin finish. It is real wood veneer, so the figure differs from table to table.

The underside of the top is cut back at an angle, so from the side it reads as a thin disc over the pedestal.
