Its side is made of thirty vertical staves, each cut from its own piece of mango with a wide, almost flat face and a rounded groove on either side, so the drum shows a mix of honey, tan and soft greige-brown tones from the top to the floor. The flat round top sits flush inside a notched border formed by the ends of the staves. The wood has a refined natural stain under a water-based, low-VOC lacquer. Mango is a natural material, so knots, grain and tone vary from table to table. It arrives assembled.
