Pizzoni takes the long, low line of a mid-century sideboard and lifts it onto an open metal stand in a matte champagne-brass finish: four square legs, a low rod at each end and two long rods crossing in an X underneath. With the floor visible below, 72 inches of storage still looks light. The front reads door, two drawers, door, and the doors have softly rounded outer corners.
The elm veneer is finished in a warm latte brown, matte with a soft sheen, so the strong cathedral grain shows on every door; as a natural veneer, grain and tone vary slightly from piece to piece. Each pull is a round wooden dowel on antique-brass-finish mounts. Behind the doors are shelves, the drawers run on full-extension metal runners, and built-in outlets with USB charging ports power a lamp or a phone with the cord out of sight. Style it with plaster and a big canvas for a loft look, or with pale oak and linen for a warm, minimal room.
