Placanica is the chair that makes a room. Reclaimed elm has already lived one life, and it shows: deep ridged grain, fine checks, small knots and shifts in tone run through every plank under a dry, matte heritage-brown finish, so no two chairs are alike. It's real wood with its marks left on, which is exactly the point.
The build is pure geometry: a flat band wraps the back and sides, three wide planks carry it and a two-inch slab forms the seat, so at 40 pounds it feels planted. The arms sit at 30 inches, level with most table tops, so it stands pulled out rather than tucked in: right at the head of a table, at a desk or beside a console. Style it with old stone and oak for country warmth, or with plaster and linen for a quiet modern room.
