Slim oak, softened glass. A 43-inch-tall solid oak cabinet under 16 inches wide, with a reeded glass door over one drawer and brass-finish knobs.
Recco is solid oak, and the grain shows it: long cathedral arches run up the sides and across the drawer, and they change from one board to the next. The top turns down into the sides in a soft round-over instead of a hard corner, and a natural finish keeps the oak light and honey-toned, so the cabinet warms a pale wall without darkening it.
The single door is a mitred oak frame around a panel of vertically reeded glass, which softens whatever stands behind it into blurred shapes, so glasses, small plates or table linens look orderly even on a busy day. Inside, one shelf divides two compartments, and a drawer below keeps coasters, candles and remotes out of sight. Four round tapered legs lift the case almost 6 inches off the floor. Style it with boucle and linen for a soft, pale room, or with cognac leather and rough plaster for a warmer loft look.
