Roccella makes the dining table worth looking at, even when no one is sitting down. When they are, the heart-shaped back curves around your shoulders, a thick boucle seat takes the weight off, and the low back keeps the table open and easy to talk across.
There are no back legs: one sculpted piece of oak rises from a curved band on the floor, through a tall rounded opening, into the backrest, with two square front legs and slim floor runners completing the frame. The English knotty oak has a greige, wire-brushed finish whose open grain and few small knots differ on every chair, so it feels natural, never rustic, and the soft grey boucle is edged with self-piping. With no arms, the pair sits neatly along a table: style them with stone and old beams for a warm country room, or with steel windows and linen for a calm loft.
