Made for long lunches. A compact mahogany dining chair with a hand-woven, see-through rattan back and a soft ivory cushion with a washable cover.
Scalea is the chair you pull up for a long lunch and forget to leave. The back is natural rattan, hand-woven in an open grid, so light passes straight through and the chair never looks heavy, even in a small room. Thick golden coils frame the weave, and because rattan is natural, its tone and weave vary a little from chair to chair: that's part of its character.
The seat is wrapped all round in the same honey rattan, under a foam-padded ivory herringbone cushion that ties on, lifts off and has a washable cover. The mahogany frame is kept plain on purpose: square legs, one rail on each side, and back posts that lean gently back for an easy, upright sit. It arrives fully assembled. Style it with stone and a faded rug for a country kitchen, or with pale plaster and concrete for a bright loft.
Pull a few up to our Oriolo solid wood table, or to our Verbicaro round reclaimed pine table for a darker, country look.
