The rectangular top is oak veneer in a greyish mid-brown, laid in a sunburst of narrow wedges that radiate from the centre, framed by a plain oak border and edged underneath with a thin band of gold-finish metal. It stands on two flat slab legs, each set in a gold-finish metal shoe at the floor and joined by a single stretcher. The table is 75.5 inches long closed and 95.5 inches with its 20-inch self-storing leaf in place. The four chairs have gently curved upholstered backs and seats in a light greige woven fabric, wooden side frames that sweep down into low arms, a wooden ladder frame on the outside of the back, and gold-finish caps on the front legs.
