The pedestal, inspired by classic French design, is the star: a turned column with rings, a full flattened ball and a flaring bell, settled on four stepped round tiers for a grounded look. Dress it with a linen cloth and a jug of flowers for a country look, or keep it bare against white walls for a bright, coastal feel.
