- Compass legs, plank arms: On each side of the chair a front and a rear leg meet in an inverted V under a thick flat arm. The arm runs past the back and is pegged to the back frame, which holds a curved pad in light greige fabric.
- Six places, one trestle: Seen at an angle the set reads as one piece: two chairs along each side and one at each end, around a trestle base that stays well in from the ends of the top.
- A keyed through-tenon: At each end the long stretcher passes through the foot rail and is locked with a wooden key, and a diagonal brace rises to the top. The oak is wire-brushed and white-limed, so the grain reads by touch as well as by eye.

The thick top is oak veneer over engineered wood in a weathered natural finish, pale greige with white-limed open pores and a wire-brushed grain. It rests on a trestle base in the same finish: two end frames of square legs joined by a foot rail, a low stretcher that passes through each foot rail and is locked with a wooden key, and two diagonal braces rising to the top. Each armchair stands on compass legs, front and rear legs meeting in an inverted V under a flat plank arm, with the rear of each arm pegged to the back frame. The curved back pad sits in a wooden frame and the seat is a padded cushion set into a wooden seat frame, both covered in a light greige woven polyester fabric. The veneer is real oak, so the grain varies from table to table.
