The Sulmona story

One panel, one gentle arch.

A plain panel. A camelback crown. Two rounded wings.

The headboard face is one flat panel in ivory canvas, with no tufting, no buttons and no piping. Its top edge rises in one wide, gentle arch to a crown at the centre and settles to lower shoulders at each end.

At each side a rounded-top wing stands forward of the panel and runs down to the floor. Low upholstered rails follow the mattress around, and at the foot the bed stands on two turned solid wood legs in a walnut finish.

The design

The headboard rises to 54 inches at its crown. A metal frame with wooden slats carries the mattress directly, so no box spring is needed; the maker rates it to 1,000 lb.

The headboard

Wings down to the floor.

The headboard face is one plain panel. Seen from the foot of the bed, the camelback line rises above the pillows and the two wings stand forward of the panel, with rounded tops.

The wings run all the way down to the floor, and the low upholstered rails follow the mattress around.

The foot

Low rails, turned legs.

At the foot there is no tall footboard, only the low upholstered rail. It stands on two turned solid wood legs with a walnut finish.

The legs lift the rails 4.5 inches off the floor: a warm accent under the pale canvas.

Full, Queen or King.

The Full is 60.24 inches wide, the Queen 67 and the King 83. The Queen and King are 85.8 inches long, the Full 79.7, and all three rise to about 54 inches.

The Full takes a 54 by 75 inch mattress, the Queen a 60 by 80 and the King a 76 by 80. Mattress not included.
