- Matte black, open grain: The top is one flat surface of wood veneer under a matte black stain. The open grain stays visible as a fine charcoal texture in raking light, with no gloss.

The black is a stain rather than a paint, so the open wood grain still shows as a faint texture where the light falls across it. A plain round pedestal 18 inches across sets the drum back from the floor, and the table stands 13.6 inches high.
