Soft oval, sculpted legs. A 47-inch racetrack oval in walnut-finish wood veneer, set low on two arched slab legs.
Tortona's top is a long racetrack oval: straight along the sides and fully rounded at both ends, so there is no corner to catch a shin on the way past. A broad bevel tucks the lower half of the edge in under the top, which keeps the oval looking thin from the sofa. The surface is real wood veneer over MDF, finished in a medium walnut brown under a satin lacquer, with fine open pores and a soft cathedral figure.
Underneath stand just two slab legs, set crosswise near the ends. Each rises straight from the floor, then curves inward on both sides as it meets the top, like a soft arch, with tall grain running up its face. There is no shelf and no drawer, only open space and the rug beneath. Style it with a cognac leather sofa and a faded rug for warm mid-century calm, or with charcoal velvet and a tripod lamp for an evening city look.
For a matching walnut look, add our Pietrapertosa walnut pedestal side table, whose soft pebble-shaped top has the same beveled underside.
