Two shapes, two heights. A kidney-shaped coffee table and a lower teardrop table in walnut-stained wood veneer, each on three reeded, curved legs.

The larger table is a 49.6-inch kidney shape with one side curving gently inward; the smaller is a 33.9-inch teardrop that stands about 4 inches lower, so it can slide partly beneath the larger top. Each top is a thin 0.87-inch slab of wood veneer over MDF, stained a warm walnut brown, with the grain still showing through in long lines, arches and small oval knot figures.

Underneath, each table stands on three curved panel legs faced with vertical half-round reeds, one wide and two narrow, and the floor stays open between them. Use the pair layered in front of a long sofa, or pull the small one out beside an armchair. Set them with cream boucle and linen for a soft modern room, or with cognac leather and a faded rug for a warmer, collected look.

Reeds under the edge
